PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to help certified divers gain experience and confidence through guided adventure dives. Rather than classroom-heavy learning, this course focuses on learning by doing, exploring new environments while developing practical skills and awareness underwater.

It’s a natural next step after Open Water and a great way to become a more comfortable, capable diver.

Course structure
Practical Information
  • Minimum age: 12 years

  • Duration: Typically 2–3 days (flexible). Progression is based on comfort and mastery, not speed.

  • Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)

  • Depth limit: 30 metres

  • Certification: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The course consists of five Adventure Dives, typically completed over 2–3 days.

  • Two core dives:
    Deep Dive & Underwater Navigation

  • Three elective dives:
    Chosen based on interests, conditions, and progression (e.g. buoyancy, night, wreck etc.)

Each dive introduces new skills while remaining relaxed and fully supervised.
